Religious arguments

Keep in mind that any argument a religious person poses will provide no physical evidence of any god:

        1. The bible says:

              argument- the bible says

fact- because the bible says does not prove god exists

        2. I feel the presence of god:

              argument- I feel god

fact- This is the Kirk Cameron argument that he felt god. People have felt may things throughout life, none of it proves a supernatural being exists

        3. god is absolute and therefore is not governed by the natural laws of the universe

argument- god is the absolute god so therefore the things that are happening in the universe are as disconnected from his world as a watch is from the watch maker.

fact- this is the islam argument. The real problem here is that you can deduce anything with this kind of logic. I mean the boogie man is beyond natural laws but he exists, right. Wrong!!!!

         4. Look at the trees, the ocean, the sky

argument- because nature exists god exists

fact- because nature exists proves nature exists not god

          5. It's all to complex not to be created

               argument- ID or intelligent design

fact- that's all good and well. Can you show me the method that brought you to this conclusion and then show me to your designer

These next three arguments are points that scientists cannot 100% prove so the religious like to plug in god for the answer which as we all know has no evidence either.

          6. Where did the universe begin/ must be god

               argument- speaks for itself

fact- no one knows how it all started. The fact that scientists don't know does not mean that there is some kind of puppetmaster out there. If that were so we would find ourselves in a state of infinite regression. And we would have to ask where god came from etc.

          7. How did the first molecular life form start

argument- scientists cannot pinpoint the beginning of life.

fact- This is absolutely true. This a point called abiogenesis which is the study of the first life form. Scientists speculate the RNA was among the first life forms. But it is not an easy thing to prove. Welcome to science. However, this still does not make any hypothesis of god valid.

          8. How are we conscious at all

argument- How do we account for the fact that we can think and are aware

fact- We can't account for it. This another one of those areas where the science is not easy and I challenge my religious brothers and sisters to help figure it out. But if your just going to plug god into the equation, then you will have to first prove the existence of god(physical evidence).

There are many arguments for religion but none of them produce any evidence. These people cannot expect reasonable people to follow these dogmas without some kind of evidence. In the words of the great Carl Sagan " extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence"
